The Sacred Valley Tour is one of the most popular tour in the region. The Sacred Valley of the Incas was a crucial area for the Inca empire and it functioned as an agricultural, spiritual and political center for them. the 3 main sites: Chinchero, Pisac and Ollantaytambo. Many tourists opt to do this tour just before their visit to Machu Picchu, as you can choose to finish in Ollantaytambo from where you take the train on to Aguas Calientes (the town at the base of the Machu Picchu complex). The lush Sacred Valley of the Incas is full of cultural and historical places such as:

PISAC (2,970 m.) known for its handicraft market and archaeological site atop a mountain with strategic views along 3 valleys, with many terraces.

OLLANTAYTAMBO (2,800m) one of the original Inca towns still standing today. A picturesque town with original Inca walls, streets and water canals that run along some homes. See the famous Pacarictampu and Inca Princess bath fountain.

CHINCHERO (3,752m) located high up in the Andes, with lovely landscapes, it is believed to have been an important place during the Inca times. It is also believed to have been the birthplace for the mystical rainbow. In the main plaza, you will see the old adobe colonial church built on top of an Inca Temple. On Sundays, you can enjoy an original colorful Indian Market with the locals coming from all around.

Sacred Valley of the Incas - Tour Itinerary:

We will pick you up from your hotel at 8:15am and drive you to Pisac, located in the lush Sacred Valley. Take in breathless views of the surrounding mountains. Along the way to Pisac, we will stop at a natural viewpoint where we will see the pristine Sacred Valley.

The exuberant Sacred Valley was undoubtedly a key area of settlement for the Incas, its combination of agreeable climate and fertile plains bestow an unusual abundance for the high Andes.

Later on, we will visit the town of Pisac, famous for its typical market, selling handicrafts and then ascend up to the archaeological site to visit the sacred temples surrounded by many terraces. Then, we continue to the town of Urubamba to enjoy a delicious lunch. After lunch we will drive to the archaeological complex of Ollantaytambo (2,700m), an important Inca construction built during the Inca's heyday. This is an extraordinary Inca place where, besides the ruins, you may also see an amazing rock formation representing the Inca God, Wiracocha. Our final visit will be at the calm village of Chinchero (3,762 m). After a wonderful tour of the Sacred Valley and its towns full of history, we return back to Cusco.
