Ausangate Trek 5 days

The Ausangate (6,398 m./20,991 ft.) is considered to be one of the most beautiful snowcapped mountains of the Andes. The region around the mountain offers impressive scenery of mountains, glaciers, lagoons and icy streams. Furthermore, the Andean people are very hospitable and strongly believe in the respect and preservation of nature. The farmers have excellent knowledge in the raising of cattle such as the vicuña, alpaca & llama, which are all appreciated for their fine quality wool and meat. The 4-hour drive from Cusco to Tinqui is an excellent preparation for the difference in altitude and temperature.

Ausangate Trek 4 days

The mountain chain of the Ausangate is situated in the Cordillera Vilcanota in the department of Cusco. It is one of the most remote high Andean zones of Peru and offers a spectacular trekking circuit along snowcapped peaks, lagoons, ice caverns and thermal waters. Furthermore, it houses a thousand-year-old culture. Hiking completely around this mystical mountain, we camp near hot springs and turquoise lakes inhabited by numerous bird species, including Andean geese and the almighty Andean Condor, and walk amongst herds of llamas and alpacas in remote native Quechua villages.
